Mejl App Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using Mejl ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). These Terms apply between you and Mejl, developed and operated by Oskar Wilhelmsson. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

These Terms cover the Mejl macOS app. For use of the mejl.ai website, see the Website Terms of Service.

2. Description of Service

Mejl is a macOS email client that connects to your Gmail or Microsoft Outlook account and uses AI to help you draft email replies in your own writing voice. Core features include:

  • Connecting to Microsoft Outlook via OAuth 2.0 and Gmail via IMAP/SMTP with a Google app password.
  • Learning your writing style from your sent mail (processed locally).
  • Generating AI-assisted draft replies using local AI models.
  • Full-text and semantic search across your emails.

Mejl is provided free of charge. There are currently no subscriptions or paid tiers.

3. Eligibility

Mejl requires macOS 13 Ventura or later. You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. By using Mejl, you represent that you meet these requirements.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide valid account credentials for any email account you connect, such as Microsoft OAuth authorization or a Google app password for Gmail. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your accounts.
  • Comply with the terms of service of Google and Microsoft when accessing their services through Mejl.
  • Use Mejl only for lawful purposes and not to send spam, harassing messages, or otherwise violate applicable law or the policies of your email provider.
  • Keep your Mac and any AI model files you configure within Mejl secure and not share access with unauthorized parties.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

Mejl is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. No guarantees are made that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose. AI- generated drafts are suggestions only — you are responsible for reviewing and approving any email before sending it.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mejl shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, lost emails, or inadvertent email sends. Mejl's total liability for any claim related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for it (which, as it is free, is zero).

7. Intellectual Property

Mejl and all associated software, design, and branding are the intellectual property of Oskar Wilhelmsson. You are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App on your Mac for personal or professional purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse-engineer the App.

8. Termination

You may stop using Mejl at any time by deleting the App from your Mac. Mejl reserves the right to discontinue the App or restrict access at any time, with or without notice.

9. Changes to These Terms

These App Terms may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted at mejl.ai/app-terms with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of Mejl after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
